International Theatre Day

On the occasion of International Theatre Day, the five-day Sangeet and Nritya Mahotsav organized by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi commenced today at the auditorium of Rani Lakshmi Bai Mahila Bhavan, Sector 38-C, Chandigarh.

On the first day of the festival, renowned dancer Suchitra Mitra and her disciple Asha Madhu presented an exquisite Bharatanatyam performance. The program began with Suchitra Mitra’s presentation of Pushpanjali and Mooshika Vahan. This was followed by soulful renditions based on Krishna Stotram, Keertanam, Heer, and Meera Bhajans. The performance concluded with a beautiful Tillana, captivating the audience.

On this occasion, Chairman of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Mr. Sudesh Sharma; Vice Chairman, Mr. Vikrant Seth; Secretary, Mr. Rajesh Atrey; renowned Kathak dancer Dr. Amit Gangani; eminent Sarangi player Pt. Vinod Pawar, and Sh। R. D Kailey along with several distinguished personalities and art enthusiasts from the city, were present.
