We are in an era where traditional Indian arts and theatre need to be showcased and promoted to make them accessible to a burgeoning new audience. CSNA had organized various programmes of music, dance & Theatre during its tenure. To bring International & national groups / teams enagaded in musical dancing & theatrical productions in the city beautiful was an herculean task. Yet we could call many reputed teams / groups & organize their
performances for the educated & art-loving audiences of the tri-city during our term. Simultaneously, it is critical to perform local artists and performers, and give them nmot only a platform to showcase their talent, but also to adequately aid them financially so that arts and theatre can be a viable career for them.
The CSNA has worked closely with local musicians, theatre artists, dancers and other performers to give them a platform to express themselves and exhibit their talents at some of the biggest stages across the city. This effort has lead to the unearhting of some truly gifted local talents, who have captivated audineces locally and also gone onto perform in many other cities across the coun try, the media, and the ever enthusiastic audience
of the city for encouraging all our initiatives.
Training and educating the local youth of the tri-city is also one of the key aims for our akademi.
CSNA has organised workshops in the akademi, local schools, schools for the underprivileged, where young students were taught about theatre, and Indian music and dance by local eminent teachers and performers. CSNA has organised many stree Theatre plays during our endevour of "Theatre at your door-step' programme. Eminent theatre - personalities have been invited for various interactions with tri-city theatre artists during our Face-to-Face programme. These sessions are of foremost importance, as training a new generation of artists, musicians, dancers is undoubtedly one the most important roles that we can perform through this akademi. In all our endeavours, we have received tremendous support from the Chandigarh Administration, Department of Culture, Chandigarh, Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, NZCC, and the National School of Drama, Delhi.
